Solid Red Cedar construction
Hand shellac French polished then finished with beeswax.
Five solid and sturdy, smooth functioning hand-dovetailed drawers.
Turned Cedar handles.
Original brass drawer locks and escutcheon.
New hardwood drawer runners to all drawers.
Replacement internal drawer guides and rail overlays where required.
New drawer stops.
Original turned Cedar legs fitted with new anti-scratch pads.
Striking woodgrain figuring.
Another echo-friendly example brought back to life by the team at MRBEAMS.COM.AU. The solid Cedar plank top, sides and drawer fronts have a very nice aged appearance, with lots of tightly packed, slightly protruding grains and distressed features . All drawers have been rebuilt, reglued and renailed and are solid and sturdy. The drawer bases have been removed, refitted and renailed. Timber crossmembers glued and nailed to the underside of all drawers to provide additional strength to the bases and lateral strength to the drawer frames. Two non-original drawer base panels installed to two of the larger drawers. The internal drawer rails have been re-glued, re-nailed and fitted with new overlays where required. All five drawers sit straight and flush and function seamlessly on their new runners. Original backboards.
